COVID 19 - 2020
THIS RESPONSE IS CLOSED. THE GOVERNOR HAS DECIDED TO CEASE GOING FORWARD WITH THE ALTERNATE CARE FACILITY PLAN. WE WERE READY. PLEASE BE READY FOR THE NEXT TIME! Sign up for the Glen Mills Feeding Teams here if you are a trained SBDR volunteers who can pass the self screening. You would be working in a very sanitary environment. That we are in desperate need of help does not diminish our obligation to be safe. Self screen before you proceed: Do you feel well now? If yes, have you felt ill, had a fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath or been sick in the last 14 days? If yes, stay home for 14 days then repeat the self-screening. Have you had surgery in the last 3-6 months? If yes, consult your doctor before signing up. Have you been exposed to anyone who has tested positive or is currently being tested for COVID-19? If yes, consult your doctor, wait 14 days and repeat the self-screening. Are you physically able to exert yourself for 8 long days? If no, this is not for you. Do you have chronic health issues or mobility problems? If yes, choose another avenue of service. If you think the CDC and state Dept. of Health guidelines on personal hygiene and social distancing are overblown and unnecessary, please do not volunteer for this assignment. Click the title above to sign up for a week of service at the Glen Mills School. There are 26 weeks to sign up for. You may sign up for two consecutive weeks if you are in excellent health and have great stamina. You may sign up for other weeks if you have had a 2-week break since the prior trip. God bless you in all that you are able to do to love your neighbor and point people to Jesus. Be faithful, courageous, and wise. (Joshua 1:5-7)

Puerto Rico
Ongoing Recovery and Feeding in Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane Maria. For every trip, be aware of the following: • This is for trained OR untrained DR volunteers • This will involved tough physical labor. Please do not volunteer if you have physical limitations or can't handle heat/humidity. • Plan on bringing your own water filtration/purification (tablets or micro-filtration system). These are readily available at camping supply stores. • Bring your own sleeping gear, including air mattress/camp mattress. Twin-sized ONLY. A self-inflating camping mattress (e.g. Thermarest) is a good choice, and is available at camping supply stores. • Plan on hand-washing your own laundry. There may be laundry units available, but don't count on it.
